Hi,
I was planning to buy the 28.5 inch upright IT -International traveler - luggage as it's very light weight [only5lb] . It's on sale for $112 on ebags.com with free shipping. Here's the link:

Any suggestions or advice n this ? I have never purchased IT luggage before , so have no idea about them . They are very very lightweight though. Just 5lb for a 28 inch upright !! Boy, that's light . Dont know if it's a positive or negative thing.:)
Any idea how it will hold up for transatlantic 15 hr flight trips ? I sure can pack in a lot of stuff and that is what that attracted me. So , what are your thoughts/advice on this one ?
Thanks.

The reviews on eBags only gave it a 2.8 out of 5 on durability
Flight time has nothing to do with durability, baggage handling has every thing to do with durability. Pack it to the max and roll down some cobblestone side walk to your hotel, drag it up a few steps and see if it explodes or the wheels fall off after rolling 5 meters.

Thanks for the response. I am looking for light weight durable luggage. Really durable luggage tend to be very heavy - close to 11-13 lb . Any recommendation for a light weight durable luggage set that does not break your wallet ? :)

All I can suggest is to not buy the Titan brand. I have a hard case X2 that had to be replaced when the locking mechanism failed and the 2nd case now has massive cracks in the side which make it unusable after 2 1/2 years long haul. And the company refuses to replace it even though it had a guarantee. Apparently the company who manufactured the case closed down and morphed into a new company so they won't honour guarantees. Not worth the amount of money I spent and certainly does not live up to the marketing hype.

Think somewhere here in the forums is a saying:
Chose 2:
Lightweight
Durable
Cheap
With that said, what is the top end of your budget?

Dont want to spend too much . $125 / suitcase is tops.

The only way I know to get durable and lightweight in that price range is to get a duffel and, if you need it, luggage cart. Do you need the structure of a suitcase?

Yes, I prefer a suitcase.
