US Airways Dividend Miles - Why suddenly handicapped seats?View Full Version : Why suddenly handicapped seats? Albasmom Jun 14, 12, 4:36 pm ***** bwiadca Jun 14, 12, 4:50 pm I hate when people call them that. Use US Airways or just US. :) As for the seats, I would call them again. Some agents don't have people skills. It's like me calling Comcast the other day. 8th phone agent was able to fix my problem. Seven previous agents gave me 7 different reasons why I can't get espn at the moment, and some said that I need tech on site to fix it. It took 2 minutes to fix my issue over the phone. Often1 Jun 14, 12, 4:53 pm The seats aren't "designated" for handicapped, they actually are designed to handle a pax who will have trouble making a transfer from a wheelchair to a seat. If a person who needs such a seat books, s/he gets that seat and OP gets bounced. Simple as that. If a person who needs such a seat books, s/he gets that seat and OP gets bounced. Simple as that. Sounds completely fair and reasonable to me. Not to mention putting safety above preference. mrredskin Jun 14, 12, 6:32 pm I hate when people call them that. Use US Airways or just US. :) As for the seats, I would call them again. USAir miffSC Jun 14, 12, 7:21 pm Speaking of seats, if anyone knows and can clarify this, I would be appreciative! And I don't mean to hijack the thread but it seems that US has seat issues ;) It was my understanding that the 'for sale' Choice seats, if still not purchased by check-in time at the airport, would be available for us to move up a few rows if desired. I was told this on the phone by an agent (I had called for something else and just asked). So, at check in there were still Choice seats available - the agent tried to move me up but then said it would have to be done by the Gate Agent. So I toodle on down to the Gate.... and asked if I could be moved up. I was told to have a seat to the side and he would get back to me.... which he never did. He began boarding the plane within five minutes or so. I watched to see who would get those seats and noted that two of them were occupied by stand-by passengers. What gives with that? This flight was out of AGS - a very small regional airport. bwiadca Jun 14, 12, 7:55 pm USAir ValuJet to you too whytravelsomuch Jun 14, 12, 8:51 pm A couple of points related to the posts already in this thread: 1) Given that now the coach bulkhead seats which used to be the handicapped seats are now opened up to Preferreds, they had to relocate those designated handicapped seats somewhere. 2) Seats are subject to change at any time. They will only notify of a change when the flight times change, flight gets cancelled or flight number changes. 3) Choice seats dont open up at check in time. They only open at the gate at something like 30 or 45 minutes out. TheAdvocate Jun 14, 12, 8:53 pm The seats are NOT handicapped! Their Occupants are. Just a small point LOL |
