Other Asian, Australian and South Pacific Frequent Flyer Programs - 3U Sichuan Airlines CTU/SHE-YVR?

Does anyone have details to this new service?
When does it start? What's the schedule like?
Are they really starting CTU-YVR AND SHE-YVR all at once?
I saw an advertisement on a local paper in Vancouver today, I can only tell from the ad that it will be served by new A330s and is 3 weekly. I was quite surprised to see 3U being this ambitious since they barely have any regional network in Asia let along long-hauls. They are (were?) just a domestic carrier in my knowledge.
Also I can't find Vancouver as a destination on their website...
3U starts CTU-SHE-YVR June 22, operates on Tues, Fri, and Sun.

I'm shocked too
This is how fast the Chinese can grow....

One of my Chinese friends here in Holland told me they're going to fly to AMS too.
More opportunities to get to China at a presumably reasonable price always works for me

Are they totally skipping international short hauls?
For maximum aircraft utilization, fly their 330s, domestically?

Yepp after YVR & AMS, MEL is next! Thats 3 long-haul routes in a time frame of 1-2 years that they are aiming at, I think they are still looking at launching all 3 within this year! Just pay attention to the new Northern Winter schedule released soon.
I think Sichuan Airlines may be a future ST member in the works! A ST HUB in the west will surely enhance connectivity within China! :D

MU and CZ both have strong bases in the "west".

Any news on performance of this route? It's still going apparently. BC fares of around $2,400 r/t but not too much in the way of ongoing connections, and web site is still in Chinese only.

I was actually just curiously looking at flights from China-YVR over the holidays (already booked mine) and saw that 3U is offering C$680ai round-trip from Shenyang-YVR for multiple dates over the holidays - man thats cheap!
