Hertz - Hertz email customer service is...laughable/poor/etc?

This was my question, I had submitted this while being logged into Hertz Gold account:
I received an email for an offer saying that I will receive a bonus of 500 Gold Plus Rewards points after my next rental by 7/31/12. I have a 2-day rental coming up. On top of using my CDP, will using either the Weekend Special rate code RQ: FRDM or a free day certificate for just 1 day (PC: 36713) qualify me for the bonus points offer? I will have at least one paid rental day. Thank you.

This was the response two weeks later:
Thank you for your inquiry. We apologize for the delay in responding.

To check the availability of this offer, please follow the steps included below:

1. Go to www.hertz.com.

2. If you are a member login in the black bar in the upper, right side of the homepage. If you are a non-member, select your Country of Residence and chose the language you prefer by using the pull-down menu.

3. If you'd like to add a Discount/CDP/Club Code or Promotional Coupon (PC) number, on the first page of the reservation process, you should click the box that says "I have a discount (CDP, PC, Coupon or other code)". Once the next page loads, you'll enter the CDP ID, then click "Submit".

4. When you get to Step # 2 - Choose Car, to get a full list of all the vehicles available be sure and click "Display Full Vehicle List"

5. You will now be at Step # 3 - Choose Extras, select optional equipment if desired and click "Submit".

6. The next page to load is Step # 4 - Review & Book. This summarizes your Itinerary and displays your selected vehicle price. The "Rate Details" are listed on the right hand side of the page. To view optional items, i.e. cost of optional coverages, click the blue hyperlink VIEW OPTIONAL ITEMS in the "Rate Details" box. To check all Rental Qualifications and Requirements, description of coverage options, rental restrictions, etc., click the "Rental Qualifications and Requirements" button located at the bottom of the page by the "Submit" button.

Please keep in mind:

If the car size you want is not listed on the * Choose Car*
step, it cannot be booked online. You should contact your
local/nearest Hertz Reservations Office for more details.

OR

If you received an ** error ** message stating "cars not available
at date and time of pick-up" or something similar, that would
indicate we are sold out of vehicles in the city you want to rent. But
again, you should contact your local/nearest Hertz Reservations
Office for verification.

I am not sure HOW the rep interpreted my question. Here is customer service at its best!

I found my answer elsewhere after not hearing back from them within a few days. So at this point, the email response just provided a good laugh...
