Qantas Frequent Flyer - Adventures of Tintin Flight 714 to SYD

Some of you here I'm sure once read Hergé's "The Adventures of Tintin" comics as a lad (or even now as a child at heart!) I was just curious to know if there is actually a current, bookable, QF flight 714. Here's part of the first page of the book:

According to FlightAware, there is a QFLink from BNE to SYD, but I can't seem to find it on the QF website, when searching BNE-SYD fares. (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/QLK714)
Obviously QF doesn't fly to LHR via Jakarta anymore, let alone as a QF714, but come to think of it, does anyone know of any other flights Tintin travelled on?

I don't think Qantas ever flew to Syldavia...... ;)

Tintin did a lot of flying, and not always commercial (The Black Island had both!)
Don't think QF714 operates at all, what is showing up on flightaware may have been a freight run or positioning flight, dunno about that.

According to FlightAware, there is a QFLink from BNE to SYD, but I can't seem to find it on the QF website, when searching BNE-SYD fares. (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/QLK714)Don't forget that QLK is the operating (ICAO) code for QantasLink, not the marketing (IATA) code for Qantas (whose ICAO code is QFA). So there's no necessary direct correlation.
Looking at current flights, it appears that QF1463 SYD-CBR is being operated as QLK463D and QF1462 CBR-SYD is being operated as QLK462D.
Given the fact that QF doesn't sell any Dash-8 flights between BNE and SYD, I'd bet that the flight which was being operated as QLK was probably a non-commercial flight.
In the late 60s and early 70s the multi-stop Kangaroo route flights were numbered QF7XX ?
I think you could probably try to look up a Qantas timetable online dating back to the late 60s or early 70s and I guess there would be QF 7XX flights.

Also no such thing as Kemajoran Airport anymore - closed in 1985,
replaced by the present Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK)
And Djakarta dropped the D to become Jakarta in the early 70s.

Ah, that would explain it!
Come to think of it, there seems to be a JQ714 from HBA to MEL. That's pretty much QF anyway! :D

But not much room for mysterious or dastardly deeds on such a short flight!

The old runway of Kemajoran actually still exists, well at least in one form. It has been converted into a road called Jalan Haji Benyamin Sueb. A great wide boulevard. If you are ever in Jakarta it is worth a trip up and down it. Most signs of the old airport are gone, but there are a few old buildings still remaining.
I think there is a divider running up the middle of the road and a fly-over at one end, so it would be hard to land or take off these days.

did he fly on Air India in Tintin in Tibet. I know it was a DC3 but maybe they changed the name of the airline since the flight crashed!!

The Wikipedia page for the airport (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kemayoran_Airport) specifically mentions Tintin.
