I have an upcoming reservation at the Embassy Suites at ATL for four nights. It is a smoking room which I got at a good rate.
I have to cut my trip short by one day and tried changing my reservation on the website but was told that there aren't smoking rooms available.
I couldn't figure out how a smoking room could be available for Aug 4, 5, 6 and 7 but not for Aug 4, 5 and 6. I called the hotel to make the change and was told the smoking room was not available at the rate that I got for three nights, only four. However, if I check in and tell them at the time that I am cutting my stay by one day, they will let me keep the smoking room without increasing the rate.
I don't mind doing this but it does seem a bit strange that a hotel would not prefer to know in advance that another room will be available for that last night.
