Hi
Just wondered if there is any news on when QF might take A380s out of service for wing repairs as I've a trip booked in F SYD - LHR second week of Dec this year and don't really want to end up on the 747s with their inferior IFE and seats
Thanks!

There are a number of options as to how and when they do the repairs. (As part of their normal maintenance cycles, take the aircraft out of service for 2 months [the time it's been taking EK to do their repairs], do the repairs while they are making the cabin rearrangements, keep the aircraft in service while repairing one section at a time when it would be sitting in a hanger anyway). How QF does it isn't likely to be announced, though it is unlikely that the LHR routes would be majorly impacted in any option.
If they follow EK and pull each aircraft from service for 2 months, it is likely the HKG route that will 'suffer' the most.

thanks for that
i know that it's unlikely that anything will be announced but it's reassuring that you think that the LHR route is unlikely to face disruption ... fingers crossed
