Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Which would take to HKG: F from YVR at 3am or J from SFO at 1am

Traveling SEA-XXX-HKG-SIN on CX using AA miles. I am currently holding two F seats on the 3am departure out of YVR. It looks like there are two J seats on the 1am out of SFO. Do folks really get the full "F" experiene on the middle of the night departure out of YVR - or would we be better off taking the SFO flight? Is it worth the extra 12.5K miles per person for F (especially with the new J cabin)? Any advice is appreciated!

I think that part of the F experience is the bed. The J seat when flat is firm, you get no mattress or duvet, and worst of all, no pajamas! ;)
since the departure is at 02:45 and the flight is a touch over 13 hours, there's time for a dinner, a full sleep, and then breakfast before you arrive just before 07:00 HKG time.
While CX J is great, their F is one of the best in the world. To me it is worth it but of course, YMMV.

The difference between J and F is well worth the 12.5K extra - about the best bargain in award travel in my book. But of course YMMV.

Did a quick check on AwardNexus and saw F Award availabilty on the SFO flight so I managed to switch us over to that one. So now we are SEA-SFO-HKG in F and the HKG-SIN in J - all ticketed and a happy camper!

Keep checking HKG-sin because sometimes it changes to a 3 class service and you can get F too!

@ bagold - will do. I set an alert on ExpertFlyer for F seats (beacuse you can't see CX Awards on that site). At the moment, it appears to be a longhaul New Business A333 - all of the other flights show Regional J on 777's.

Definently go Fout of YVR, full service despite the late departure, also you arrive in HK in the morning.
