The chase policies regarding transfer of chase points between different UR accounts and to FF programs have restrictions regarding who you can transfer to. What is your experience regarding chase enforcing this policy? There don't seem to really be controls, all you need is account numbers and names in order to do a transfer. Can you get into trouble if deviating from the policy?

People do it all the time. Unless you're selling your points regularly, I don't think it's a big deal.

Yeah I was thinking more along the lines of getting UR points from a cousin who isn't into the miles game, or transferring UR points to his united FF account (and book a ticket for myself, i.e. buying his united miles) to avoid united's ridiculous transfer fees. Not running a wide scheme of buying and selling points to hundreds of people. I guess it should be ok...

New poster here although lurking for many, many years!

Anyway, FWIW, the Chase point transfers happens in seconds, lirerally! I did an Ultimate REwards transfer to UA MileagePlus and the points were in and AVAILABLE within 3 mins!!! How is that even possible when it's 2 entirely different programs and systems?

Answer 1: They use computers.
Answer 2: "Oh, logarithms." (obscure movie ref)

I've been informed by Chase CSR's that there are no restrictions on buying, selling, or transferring points. Of course that might not help me if someone points to the published T&C and says "Well you can't prove what they said, and anyway, they made a mistake."

I have received transfers from at least 4 co-workers, maybe more.

Transferring point to anyone who is not a spouse (or at least at the same address) is a trigger for Chase A/A (adverse action = account closure).

Do it at your own risk.

How about transferring UR points into a UA account that has the same last name as you? Would that set off alarm bells? My mother has an UR balance and can no longer fly due to health reasons. I'd like to transfer her UR points into my UA account. We have the same last name and the same address.

I would not hesitate to make a transfer to a close relative.

Can my Chase Freedom points be transferred to my husband's UR account from a Chase Bold card (same last name and address)?

I tried to transfer a large balance of UR to my UA account last night. As of this morning, the order is still open. Any ideas what's taking so long?

I recently transferred my mom's ur points into my frequent flyer account with no problem.

When I tried to do the same thing with my dad's ur points, it wasn't going through. So I sent a SM to chase explaining that I was transferring my dad's ur points to my ff acount so that i could use them to buy him and my mom award tickets for a vacation they are planning in january (which is the complete truth) and the points were transferred with no problem. :)

Should not be any problem there.
