Hilton HHonors - hH Gold via Amex Plat

Im new to all this FF programs for hotels. I have the option of receiving Gold status for 1 year via Amex Plat or another Hotel chain (gold) for life Is Hilton worth it? What should I expect?

The 'experience', like price, will vary a great deal by brand and somewhat by location.

When was gold HH status added to a benefit for the Am Ex Platnium card?????

Really don't know but this is a Swedish Amex Plat if that make a difference

Also a benefit of the UK Amex Plat too, but only for one year

Fast track is great it seems Plus you only have to maintain it which looks like it doable.. Just booked Millenium Hilton in NYC.. Let's see what happens now.. Upgrade perhaps?
