Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - Layover in LAX

I have an upcoming flight booked on American. On my return I connect in LAX and have just over an hour layover to connect to the direct LAX-ANC flight on AS. I haven't been to Alaska's new terminal and frankly haven't been to lax in a few years. I am assuming there is a bus between the two terminals? I'm a bit worried about the tight connection. How much time do you think is needed to connect between AA and AS in LAX?

AA is in Terminal 4 and AS is in Terminal 6. LAX is a horseshoe shape and 4 and 6 are on the same side of the horseshoe so that helps to speed things up.
There is a bus that will take you to terminal 6 and per ashill is is airside so you will not need to leave the secure area.
It will be tight but you should be fine if this is a domestic flight.
If you are arriving international then I don't think you are good to go.

There is a bus that will take you to terminal 6 but it may be easier and faster to just walk. I will let others chime in on that.
Walking will require that you leave security and reclear at Terminal 6; the bus is airside. I have not taken the T4-T6 bus, so I don't know how long it takes. It must be quicker than the old T4-T3 bus as T4 and T6 are on the same side of the airport.

Thanks for the clarification. Have never taken the bus and assumed it was curbside. Definitely should be quicker since they are on the same side of the airport.

It's certainly possible to make but how much over an hour to connect will determine if it is a legal connection. Are you on separate tickets? If so, the standard warnings would seem to apply.
