United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Is new united the old lousy Continental?

Post-merger, I only see the name change every thing else is old lousy continental.

The app and website tries to give too much in single screen and it looks overcrowded.

The stupid Alex is there to answer everything but if you ask flight from IAD To Bora Bora it will ask you to ask another question.

Now you have pay fees to block your ticket for few days

The customer service sucks more. Previously I had bad experience due to language issue but now the agents are more rude.

The gate agents arrive at gate just in time to board the flight.

AND

I still could not figure the complex logic behind upgrade. There is no transparency in that process.

What is your experience?

There has been much discussion about the merger on FT. I suggest taking some time to scan some of the many threads on this and you find many points of view -- where you can contribute your pov.

Oh no. Not another one of these. Anyways, in my very limited experience with the separate airlines, it does seem that most of PMUA is gone and PMCO is now the new UA, for better or for worse. YMMV. Oh, I forgot, Welcome to FlyerTalk!

Lovely...I guess the existing merger rant threads aren't good enough, so we needed another one.

On the subject of having to "pay fees to block your ticket for a few days," did pre-merger UA offer you better options for this, pay for or not? Unless there was some trick that I, nor most of the frequent posters on this board knew about, there hasn't been a way to do this on UA for quite some time.
