Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - AS Award Sale to Hawaii and Mexico

AS Mileage Plan members can redeem fewer miles for award travel between California and Hawaii or Mexico for travel booked by July 31, 2012 for travel completed between Sept. 5, 2012 and Oct. 31, 2012.

Flights to Mexico are discounted to 12,000 miles one way in coach and include routes such as San Jose to Guadalajara, San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta and Los Angeles to Mazatlan. Flights to Hawaii start at 16,000 miles one way in coach and include routes such as San Diego to Honolulu, Sacramento to Maui and Oakland to Maui.

Travel between California and Hawaii is discounted between Sept. 9 and Oct. 31, 2012. Travel between California and Mexico is discounted between Sept. 5 and Oct. 15, 2012.

Flights normally start at 17,500 miles one-way in coach for flights to Mexico and 20,000 miles for flights to Hawaii. Alaska Airlines award sale offers discounts of 20 percent to Hawaii and over 30 percent to Mexico. Members can travel roundtrip from California to Mexico for 24,000 miles, which is less than the cost of a roundtrip coach award within the U.S.

Less competition and the advance bookings for PNW/Alaska to HI is strong...

Nice if there is actually some inventory available. Too bad they are not yet willing to extend this offer to mid-December as fall season is generally slow excluding Thanksgiving. Used to see fare sales in the $250-300 RT range from AA and reluctantly matched by UA. That's probably next from AS given the expanded number of jets that need to be filled from the bay area. :cool:
