Hi All,

I will be connecting from AA to EY at MAN this weekend, with a two hour layover.

Is it easy to transfer at MAN? Are AA and EY in the same terminal? Is 2 hours enough time?

Thanks!

Ethiad use T3, AA T1. (http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb.nsf/Content/WhichTerminal)

I'm assuming nothing has changed (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/us-airways-dividend-miles/784622-connection-manchester.html) - though given the (lack of) number of international-international passengers I wouldn't be surprised if this didn't exist anymore.

Yes, I believe there is an airside transfer facility. However, since there may not be many passengers transferring from international to international, you may have to wait for an official to turn up to escort you. Two hours should be more than enough.

From Manchester Airport's website:

Transferring from an international flight to an international flight
On disembarking from the aircraft follow the signs for "Flight Transfer". As you are arriving at Terminal 3 you will need to take the transfer bus over to the Flight Transfer Centre in Terminal 1. Once at the Flight Transfer Centre you will be required to go through security checks. Once you have cleared these controls, follow the signs to your Terminal of departure. If you require boarding cards they will be issued either at the Flight Transfer Centre or at the gate by your airline's handling agent.

And AA's website (http://www.americanairlines.co.uk/i18n/travelInformation/Manchester_airport.jsp#):

Flight Connections

Transferring between flights is simple when you know how. Take a look at the tips below that will help you make a smoother connection at Manchester Airport.

Where do I go once I've arrived at the airport?

Once you've arrived at Manchester airport, follow the purple signs marked 'Flights Transfer' which will lead you to the correct terminal for your onward flight.

What happens if I do not have a boarding pass?

If you do not have a boarding pass you will need to see an American Airlines representative at the transfer area.

Do I have to pick up my luggage or re check-in again?

If your bags have been labelled to your final destination and you were given a boarding pass for your onward flight then your luggage will be taken care of.

How do I get between Terminals?

Proceed to the transfer area and an Airline representative will direct you.

Great. Sounds pretty straightforward.

Thanks!

Part of the reason one may require escort and why they're a bit cagey could be to do with this:

There is, or was, an issue at T3 whereby people could just walk out of the terminal so they were holding transfer pax departing from T3 and escorting them to their gate to make sure they boarded. I don't know if it's still that way.

In MAN I would be more worried about being required to go a forced mandatory irradiation by the backscatter scanners.
