This is my first post so I hope I've posted in the right place.

I'm traveling down to Johannesburg, South Africa with Etihad via Abu Dhabi and I've booked seats 17A and 17K. In fact I've booked seat 17A for the outbound flight and 17K for the inbound.................

However I've just looked on the seat guru website and seat 17A and 17K (Which are both on opposite parts of the air craft and both supposed window seats are marked down as missing a window!)

I've just bought a new camera and was hoping to take Pictures of the world below (mainly Africa as my camera has gps), Now to be fair It only says their is no window for 17(A)(K) on the A330 version 1, Version 2 and 3 seem fine.

I know I'm traveling on an A330 but is is possible to fund out which version I'm going to be on also, I hope I'm not unlucky and have a so called window seat without a window for all 4 flights

All the other window seats are now booked and its only the center isle that's free

regards

Did you call EY to check if other seats were available? If not then give it a try as they seem to block a lot of Business class seats that they can open up if you call.

Yes I have, I've managed to change seats

Sorry, I have no idea why they block so many - seems like most in fact when you look at a long dated reservation. It is counterintuitive to me as it simply leads to many, if not most, having to call in to get seats assigned or changed.

I have bookings for the winter of this year (dec/jan) and I had to call them to get seats changed as well...flights were empty but i couldn't select the seats i wanted!

I find that its difficult to book seats even when purchasing a ticket or checking in online. However, I filled out my profile as an Etihad Guest member - and you can request whether you prefer window / aisle seats. Ive almost always been seated to my preference. And yes, I always call and check, and if I havent, theyre very accommodating about moving me. I agree, though, its a weird system when we cant do it ourselves!
