I have several thousand HawaiianMiles that are about to expire.
I wanted to transfer the miles to a partner airlines, like Alaska, but when I asked, Hawaiian said:
------------
"Aloha! Ben
Thank you for your email
With regards to your concern, Transferring of Hawaiian miles to your Alaska Frequent Flyer Number is not possible. Since the Mileage is already posted on your Hawaiian miles account."
------------
What do you think? Do I have any options here, aside from just redeem my miles for magazines online?
Post transferred from the broad MilesBuzz forum to the more specific Hawaii-based Airlines where I am confident you will receive creative suggestions. In general airlines do not allow miles to be transferred to another carrier's program because the purpose of the programs is to reward loyalty.
You could, however, transfer HA miles to Hilton HHonors points.

if the milage is over 5000 you can transfer 5000 HA miles into 10,000 Hilton Honors points

Or install the Hawaiian Airlines toolbar, do a couple searches, and get some miles and restart the 18 month clock.

For every 3 searches you get 1 mile. You won't go around the world with it, but the points post pretty much each week.
Note: The search results are terrible: they're yahoo. Use it for what it can be used for and get those miles to stop from resetting. Do not go nuts and start searching for 1,000 different terms a day.

My personal experience with the toolbar, it took about 2 months for search points to post. Buying stuff from Amazon took a couple of weeks.
Google Hawaiian Airlines search toolbar or

Thanks all! I installed the toolbar and am doing searches with it. But how do I know if this "reset" the clock on my points?

Once you see the points posted to your account, you're reset.
