Usually AS matches quickly (they haven't yet).

(ETA: They have now :D)

Wonder if the sale fares have loaded. I've got a trip to RNO during the timeframes of the WN sale that are the same now as they were five hours ago.

Yup, I just grabbed a SEA-LAS August R/T for ~$98 each way. A good bit better than the $140+ O/W fares I was looking at last week.

Thanks for the post!

Southwest is having another sale:

http://www.southwest.com/html/promotions/69-dollar-sale.html?int=HOMEHEROMEDSAL120710

AS has matched the $69 SEA-RNO one way fare, at least on some flights. Not bad.

Edited to add: Maybe it didn't start with Southwest? Some AS SEA-RNO fares are $59 one way.

Southwest is $59 as well. I have not seen this rate in at least 4 years.

Outside of SEA-SAN at $98, the current WN sale is awful. $155 for SEA-LAS when it was $98 in June? Pass. They can do better than that.

Agreed. And AS has a $69.60 fare for the SEA-SJC-RNO routing on some days that works out to 5.8 cents per status mile.

It's nice that AS is giving sale fares from RNO to SJC and SEA. Sadly, despite the fact that they have direct (1-stop) and connecting service between RNO and LAX, their fares are still substantially higher than the competition (AA, WN, UA) who is charging $59 to $60 each way to LAX whereas Alaska's cheapest fare is $118 to $125 each way. I wish they'd match these fares as well. Sigh.

I would send an email to Customer Service, explaining the issue. You would be surprised -- they might start matching the fares.

Don't give someone false hope. :)
