We have booked some Hilton chain hotels for the forthcoming US trip. We received confirmations for all bookings etc.

My question is: Does hubby need to present his HH card upon checking in at each hotel? The reason is that we have moved from Sydney to London to live, and I left hubby's HH card back in Oz. We have done all the bookings via internet with hubby's card number. But, not sure if each hotel would ask to see hubby's card? Should we ask for a replacement card?

Thanks.

No need to show your card at check in if the number is already on the reservation.

OOnly time I have my card with me is when I am in Vegas. When the LVH was a hilton you needed the card for the buffet. They will still let you have VIP lounge access with it at the LVH even though it isn't a hilton anymore, but I have never needed it any other oproperty. Just make sure his HH number is in the confirm.

Thanks, everyone, for the quick replies.

Yes, hubby's HH card number is shown on all confirmed bookings. So, we do not need to worry then.

When the LVH had that big Star Trek interactive thing going on, showing the HH card was good for a buy one, get one free ticket deal or something. It's the only time carrying the card around has created any value for me. I always offer it at check-in but they never need to see it, probably because I always book through Hilton.com.

You did need the card for the free buffets every morning, to get free admission to the spa and if you wanted to use the VIP line at the buffet and cafe. If you didn't have the card they would give you a temporary card.

Even though the LVH isn't a hilton anymore, providing you show the card to the staff at the VIP lounge, they will still let you enter which is nice for getting bottled water and diet coke. In the past when it was a hilton property you could also flash the card and get in for free bottled water if you weren't staying there and access to the VIP buffet line.

The HH number should show up on the computer folio at the check in desk. If they do not acknowledge your number verbally, ask if it is there. If it isn't, the agent should be able to do a "search profile" on the screen. Just be sure to let the agent know the address in London where the HH card is registered. Chances are there will be multiple members with the same name. You should be able to add your HH number to any reservation you have at any time, even at checkout.

I've never been asked for my card. Except when I first joined, I never even got a card. I asked for a card 2 yrs and got my first Diamond card even though I already been Diamond for the 3 previous yrs.

I don't think any of us ever had --

but I learned the hard way to carry a copy of the confirmation so that I have the hotel's address and phone number, in case for example I need to be picked up by shuttle van at an airport and there's no phone bank.
