Hi everyone!

Please forgive me if I have posted this in the incorrect area of the forum (i'm forgiven as I am a newby!)

I am staying at the Holiday Inn Sherwood Park Nottingham one weekend in September at the rate of £140.00 dinner bed and breakfast in an executive room per night.

Has anyone stayed here before? What can be expected?

I have been there before when it was in its pre Holiday Inn days.

Many thanks in advance.

What was the hotel called before it was a Holiday Inn?

Tipadvisor says it was called the Dakota.

As a newbie, you might not know about the Exclusive 2 for 1 rates sometimes available at many IHG properties, mainly at weekends.

The hotel you are looking at has Executive Rooms at room only rate for £65 per night. Obviously not sure which weekend in Sept, so I randomly chose 14-16. Makes the dinner and breakfast expensive unless there are at least 2 of you. Just a thought.

I have to say... For a Holiday Inn, it looks very nice! ^ Obviously the remaining elements of the previous operator...

I have checked and the 2 for 1 offer is not available on the chosen dates (22nd September 2012 weekend) I have saved £10.00 per night as the current DBB rate in an executive room is £150.00 per night.

The hotel is certinally not the usual Holiday Inn property.

The hotel is not in a business park but has excellent road links to Nottingham and the East midlands. Initially I choose the hotel for its looks and the location. I have eaten in the bar and restaurant before and it is quiet nice!

i'll write a detailed report on the hotel and post here on the website.

The hotel is in a business Park:D

Nice property, it was part owned by David Coultard when it opened. Restaurant and bar were very good but I haven't been for a couple of years since the change, the rooms are compact but comfortable and modern.
