Club Carlson - Rooms not available for gold points--subject to change

I signed up for the big night, and we will be enjoying a paid night soon at the Radisson Bloomington, MN, which has a very fun water park. It's also conveniently located next to the Mall of America and Ikea.

I had hoped to use the point for one night at the Radisson Blu Airport in Oslo, Norway, but it is showing as not available for points (This is for mid-August).

There are four additional Radisson Blu Hotels in the area, and two of them are showing rooms available for 44,000 points (Downtown-Nydalen and Lysaker). We could stay at one of these, if that is the only option.

Does anyone with more experience in the program know whether availability is likely to change over time in a situation such as this?

Curiously, the hotels available are pretty inexpensive about $100 and $136, while those that are unavailable (Airport, Downtown-Plaza and Downtown-Scandinavia) are more like $320 per night.

Try to book with cash plus points you may get a better deal

Did you check the Park Inn By Radisson Oslo Airport? Available for 44k points in mid-August, and it is only 2 minutes walk from the terminal building.

This is an excellent idea, however, my date is not available for points or points + cash at this time. At least it's another option.

To the first reply, another good idea, but only the hotels available for points are showing availability for points + cash at this time.

I'll keep an eye on things and let you know if I have any luck.

The Friends and Family rate makes Scandinavia affordable. I'm betting there is availability at the property of your choice for 600NOK on your date

imo, CC is no different than any other Hotel program, which means not all Hotels will be avaialble when I decide I need or want a room there. Although some times things will change usually they dont and I dont make my decission based on something becoming available that isnt at the present

I would think Aug is Peak Peak time for OSL and the Countries around her.When I had to overnight a few months ago @ ZRH I looked at the Blu there but found the Renaissance nearby was a better deal pts wise even thou it wasnt On airport as the Blu was

Today, when I searched, I found rooms...but only for 1 or 2 people. When I added my kids, suddenly nothing was available for points.

I wonder if calling could magically help me find a room with room for 4 people to sleep. I'll report back if there is any news.

I called and received the same info. After the agent let me know that no rooms were available, she offered a paid reservation. I declined.

Then, I think, the agent inadvertently hung up on me. I might try again another time.
