I have alot of BMI miles that I wish to use on a flight from Cork to Tbilisi (ORK TBS)
BMI search does not allow me to search this route.
I have never redeemed miles before so I need a little help.
Using BMI miles with BA -> what do I need to do first.
and how do I go about reserving a flight
I have 29492 destination miles and 11040 status miles
my wife has 22064 and 2664 status miles
Both of us want to travel.
I was considering making my own way to LHR and traveling business class but it is getting complicated.
Any help is much appreciated

I think to do what you are attempting, you will need to wait until you can transfer your Diamond Club miles to Avios.
Cork to Heathrow is not a BA flight, but Aer Lingus. BA codeshare on the route and Aer Lingus is a BA partner. BA can book seats on such flights with Avios.
bmi, I suspect, are unlikely to be able to book it as it is not a BA operated route and they do not have access to BA partner redemption seats, only those on "pure" BA flights and bmi flights.

You will be able to transfer your Diamond Club miles over to British Airways Avios (as they are called) at the rate of 1:1 from July 3. Check back here - or the email address you are registered under at Diamond Club - in order to find out how to do this after that date. (Hopefully you won't need to travel before July 3!).

Aer Lingus is not a Diamond Club partner - so the ORK-LHR leg is a definite no-no using BD miles.
You may not be able to book the ORK - TBS redemption using the booking tool on the BA website (if you don't have a British Airways Executive Account, you will have to open one before you transfer your miles. Also be advised that if you have status with bmi Diamond Club, you can now obtain the same status in the British Airways program) and may find it easier to ring up and speak to an agent to make the booking.

TBS still is a BD flight, so OP is better off calling Diamond Club and book it using DC Miles rather than with Avios if OP can book a separate cork-London flight with enough connection time.
It will cost 18000 miles plus taxes for a miles only business class booking with BD, Avios plus cash will cost 20000 miles plus taxes of around GBP 200. An all Avios booking will cost 50000 per pax plus taxes.
Is there a thread on this already??
This is insane, I just tried making a booking with BD miles through their callcentre, for a BA flight intra-Europe, they want the same amount of miles as BA but £100 taxes instead of £27! Anything that can be done??

My understanding of the Reward Flight Saver (£27 fee) is you need to have had activity in your Avios account in the previous 12 months to qualify for this otherwise you pay the same taxes as bmi are charging.
If you wait until 3rd July then transfer your miles over to BA and make the redemption from your Avios instead, unless you already have Avios now (and activity in the last 12 months) in which case book with them now

cork to lhr is stupid money if i include a bag,
I have always done this route through turkish airlines ex dublin
if all else fails can I redeem BMI miles on turkish airlines? if not then all routes go through LHR. The online search auto goes to BA so I cant even search BMI airlines through dublin
