Hi All.
I am hoping someone here can help me with a query about flight AY70 which is a 340 I understand. I am on tonight's flight and am currently in 1L. According to seatguru, there are some dis-advantages to this seat, but doesn't specify what.
I have searched on the forum, and read the sticky post and links at the top, but can't find an answer.
If anyone can help, or suggest a better seat number, subject to availability, it would be much appreciated.
Looking forward to my first AY experience.

It is close to the lavs. On the other hand, the food service starts from the front.

Thanks, I intend sleeping most of the way but handy to know.

For solo travel I'd definitely go for a middle pair...D or H towards the front of the cabin.

Thanks, I may see what's available tonight as I'm solo on this trip, have never been a real fan of aisle seats though. Cheers

If you are no fan of aisle seats, I think 1L is perfect. It is a window seat but due to the bulkhead it is pretty easy to get in and out of if one needs that.
And 1L is present on all A340s, so no risk of getting bumped out of seat due to equipment change.

Thanks, I may even see if I can do a mini TR for you folks, I've never done one before, so will be interesting to see how AY stacks up against BA & CX. (and AA but they were shocking anyway!)

Looking forward to a mini TR, as it is always interesting to hear some new view of things!
It might be that tonights AY70 is OH-LQA*, and in that case 1A offers the same pros as 1L but also there is no toilet in front of 1A/C. Anyway, there is not a lot of difference between the seats and/or the different 340s so don't bother too much. Have a nice flight!

It was OH-LQA and J was full. Seat position (1L) was fine, I can see though why people opt for the middle seats.
A nice quiet lounge in HEL, very nice although I don't see any bacon sandwiches!! :D
