Has anyone had any experience obtaining an Indonesian Visa in person from the consulate offices? My departure date has just been adjusted to 6/27. I don't want to rely on mailing the application and I have heard that the VOA can be very timely at peak arrival times. If anyone has been to the office in NY and can offer some guidance it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Unless things have changed you can get a visa on arrival for Indonesia depending on what passport you have. I got a VOA at DPS; much easier than having to send a passport to a consulate or embassy and have the visa processed.

Are you planning on spending time going to the NYC consulate rather than spending time online for the VOA?

Unless you plan on and extended stay just get the VOA.

For a tourist visa, I've been turned down for one in NY (where I'm from), Tokyo and Hong Kong...although I eventually convinced HK to give me one. They all say just get a visa-on-arrival- many countries citizens can avail themselves to this, including the US.
