I have a reward ticket return to London in late June. I need to cancel the flight as my son is ill. Will i get my taxes and surcharges refunded

You will only get the taxes and fees refunded, not the fuel surcharge, and that should have been in the T&Cs at the time of your booking. Also, since you're cancelling with more than seven days notice you should also get 75% of your miles back.

Shame you had to cancel your trip.

Since you lose 25% of the miles by cancelling, you could change the reward booking to some date in the future (even if you don't intend to travel on that exact date) and then pick another date to travel when you are able to. There's a change fee (£25?) but it's small in comparison to the value of the forfeited miles if you cancel.
