Anyone flown this airline? Thinking of using them from iCN to BKK but a friend said that the seats are very narrow and overall its a bad experience. Any reviews from you guys? I can also fly Asiana butbit will be more expensive.

Noone?? I am wondering if I should just bite the bullet and pay the extra $200 USD for Asiana.

I suspect not a lot of FT'ers with any experience on this airline. If you have any way to access a reader of Korean who can look up reviews on a Korean-language travel board, you probably can get some honest opinions.
This is nearly a 5-hour flight and on a single-aisle plane (Eastar flies 737's), that sounds to me like some potential misery with the narrower seats and pitch, especially if the passenger load is heavy. Your value judgment on whether the savings are worth it. I'd probably choose the Asiana option myself, especially if I could earn some *A miles. Then make it up pinching pennies in Thailand, which is easy to do and still be comfortable and well-fed.

I flew Eastar Jet's B737 from Gimpo to Jeju - 1 hour flight last month and it was an OK experience. Seat pitch is definitely very tight even for my 5 feet 4 inches frame.
Attendants were pleasant, and they offered free OJ / water on board the budget flight which usually need to be bought on other Asia budget airlines.
If you really want to try it, pay more for the exit/front row seats.

I've been searching for reviews for EastarJet too. I booked a r/t ticket with them from GMP - TSA... and then INC one way to NRT in August. Those are relatively short flights, and I'm short, and booking with EastarJet saved me nearly 200 USD. worth it, imo.

So I bit the bullet and took the ICN-BKK flight with them. Seats are very tight, planes are very worn. Both flights were delayed (they stated it was because of construction at BKK... but overall they handled it poorly). They switched gates at BKK on the fly and didnt even notify people waiting at original gate. You get what you pay for, I guess. So in conclusion... if the flight is $100 less RT... do not book it. If its $200 or more... and your adventurous like me... then go for it.

Thanks for your update! ICN - BKK is what? 6 hours?
We'll see how my segments go in August :) The 3 flights I booked with them are no more than two hours from take off to touch down...
Did you have any language issues? I'm not Korean and my Korean language skills are very limited.

No baggage issues at all. They only allow like 7kg for carry-on. So either pack light or pack big as you will probably have to check the bag in regardless.
Overall if you get a cheap fare, I would say its well worth it. But I would definitely pay an extra $100 (USD) to go on Asiana, Korean Air or any of the other bigger airlines.
