Is this possible? I have an overnight stay in Madrid after LCY-MAD, then MAD-SVQ on I2. Less than 24 between flights. Different PNRs, as first one is reward saver.

Yes if it has an IB flight code, if it has an I2 code no idea but if it does you'd have to pay

It has an I2 code. I already had to fight my way with their telesales team to get them to change the FF number from BAEC to IB+, as the former does not earn points if booked as I2. I have no issue with paying my problem is that I have been told I would need to pay for the baggage when I check-in online. Online check-in does not open until 24 h before flying and I would already be at LCY by then with no access to a printer. I am stopping at the Madrid Airport Hilton overnight, so I may try and see if they have one at the lounge. I really do not fancy having to queue for an hour to pay for checking in my bags.

I will report back.

Not possible to check through unless ticketed as IB/BA instead of I2, the former is possible even if using a different PNR, as long as the flight is not ticketed as Iberia Express.

I was able to check in online and paid 12€ for my bag in hold. I used an android smartphone and saved the QR code. No need to print a thing. At bag drop, they did not or had no idea how to scan the QR code and I was asked for my passport. The bag label was printed and I went on my way to "security" at Barajas T4. Again, no one actually scanned the QR and I was let through. At the gate, Iberia staff finally scanned the code and checked my passport.
