Cant attach your AI flying returns membership number on SIA boarding pass during check in. They said they can only do that for star alliance. When they rejected at Chennai I thought the check in staff were ignorant, this time it happened in Seoul as well. You have no other option other than sending your boarding passes, eticket etc to gain the miles in Air India while travelling SIA, its a pain. I dont understand why SIA cant just add AI FR number during checkin, infact the manager at Chennai told me that AI was not their partner at all.......heheheh(I got my miles for that trip though)

The other way round it worked without any problem (AI-Flight credited to SQ) from MAA.

Probably you should to check-in online, it may work then.

I had some crediting an SQ flight to AI ex-DEL last year. The SQ agent claimed they had no partnership with AI. I went and dragged over the nearest SATS agent, who worked with the SQ agent to figure out the problem. In the end, they couldn't find a solution, so I just decided to credit to A3.

I sent AI's deputy manager of loyalty programs an email complaining, but apparently SQ is not willing to fix the problem at their end. There is no problems with crediting AI flights to SQ.

not sure if its possible but wouldn't it just be easier to add the number when booking the ticket????

but i agree, this should be a simple fix....wonder why it can't be done....

The sad part is that you can't even update the flying returns number in their manage my booking section also, it doesn't update AI somehow. I complained and I also told them that I am flying them just because they are a partner of AI but no use. Alternatively they are asking me to contact customer support before every trip to update my FR number. I didn't excrete this from SIA. It's a real pain. They just don't care about AI's partnership. It's sad.

PS: I emailed AI with my boarding passes last time and they credited my miles within 4 weeks, and I received a mail stating that my miles were credited exactly after 4 weeks(Yes we are talking about AI here). So I emailed them this time too.
