Air France Frequence Plus - Procedure back to CDG after Paris layover

Hi, I would like some help on how I return back to CDG after a Paris layover.

I will be departing from Zurich, connecting to Paris, for a departure flight back to US. Checking my flight, I believe this flight will depart from Terminal 2F. I have around 11 hours layover in Paris.

Here is what I plan to do:
1. From Zurich, I believe I should have the boarding pass for the Paris-US leg
2. I also believe my big luggage would be checked all the way through
3. I plan to leave a small carry-on luggage in the left luggage facility at the airport.. Based on my research, this will be at CDG Terminal 2 RER/TGV station level. So after leaving the carry on luggage, I will take the RER train to the city and do some shopping!
4. In the late afternoon, I plan to take the RoissyBus back to CDG

Here are my questions: -
Upon my arrival back at CDG after the layover, what is the order by which I should do the following:
* Should I pick up my left luggage at the RER CDG station? The left luggage is simply a handcarry that I will bring to the flight.
* Process the Detaxe / Tax Refund, or
* Go through passport control * or

If there is something wrong with my assumption, will appreciate if you can provide information. Other advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

AF flights to the US depart from 2E, not 2F.
1) yes
2) yes
3) that's the best to do
When you return to CDG, yes you should pick-up your stored handbag first and then move to 2E. Tax refund is in the public (check-in) part of the terminal, in the middle of the terminal. So you must do this before passing immigration.
Enjoy your shopping :)

hi goldrack, many thanks for the clarification! I only have a few hours so I really did now want to lose time.

so coming back from roissybus, where should I get off to retrieve my stored luggage? The stored luggage area is at CDG's Terminal 2 train station level. I think rossybus passes through Terminal 1, then Terminal 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F etc. Should I get off at 2C, go to the station level, get luggage, go to 2E to get detaxe then go through passport control?

I wonder how much time I should allot with all these stuffs to do - 3 hours is safe, or should it be more 4 hours?

One comment: depending upon the time of day and the day of week, taking the Roissybus can be a lengthy process if it hits rush hour traffic. Most of the time it should be fine, but you should consider taking the RER back if you are going back during heavy traffic time. (Just my advice, others may have different opinions)

the best stop is the train (TGV) station at the Sheraton hotel. This is just above the storage facility. I think the Roissybus stops there. If not, get off at 2E and walk to the train station. For the following steps, yes that's it.

It's hard to say because lines at the tax refund office a often longs. You can try to plan to be at the tax refund desk 3 hrs before flight time. Worst case scenario is you forget tax refund if you cannot do this in a safe time (keep in mind that you have to clear immigration and security).

thanks, appreciate the advice.

I decided it will be best to take RER train back, both because of rush hour traffic (around 6PM Thursday) as well as the fact I need to go to this area to pick up my luggage.

If I am at the Sheraton TGV/RER station level, which way should I proceed to go to Terminal F for Detaxe? Would it be correct that...
- I should go first to Terminal F direction.
- Then I should go down (?) to ground check-in for detaxe?

2E !!!! not 2F :)
just follow the signs for 2E. At 2E, just go to the departure/check-in level. As I said in an earlier post, the tax refund desk is approximately in the middle of the terminal.
