Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Mileage Claim Help: Error in KrisFlyer Number Printed on Boarding Pass

Hi everyone,

Wondering if someone can share experiences if they had a similar situation.

I flew on United and asked for my KrisFlyer Frequent Flyer number to be entered on the reservation (so the miles will be credited to a KrisFlyer account). However I did not check the boarding passes carefully, and I realized that some of the digits on the FF# are wrong, only after I was done with the round trip.

Obviously the miles didn't end up in my account due to the wrong FF# entered. Is there any good way to go about doing this mileage claim?

TIA for any replies.

You will need to file a missing mileage claim form from SQ. You can print out the form here (https://www.singaporeair.com/pdf/ppsclub_krisflyer/Retroactive_Mileage_Claim.pdf).

I would also call UA and ask them to retrieve the booking and remove any FFP# in the record.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I found out that it is easier to sign and scan the mileage claim forms and boarding passes and e-mail them directly to KF Customer Service than to mail and/or fax the forms in.

Took them around 3-4 working days for a human to acknowledge receipt of the email and confirm that the mileage claim has been accepted.

Let's see what happens.

Bu if you're claiming miles for Krisflyer, why are you submitting forms from Mileage Plus?? You must also explain to KF that it was UA's error in putting incorrect FF# on reservation !

I think he/she is saying that its quicker to email the KF retro claim forms than fax. no mention of mileage plus.

Ah so...

I read "Mileage Claim" forms as "Mileage Plus" forms...

Must really put on my reading glasses these days ...

Update on what finally happened:

Signed and scanned the forms and emailed them to KF customer service. A few weeks later I received a rejection claiming that the miles were "already credited to other customer of requesting FFP".

Got on the phone, and spoke to KF customer service in Singapore. Had to re-explain that the UA agent entered my KF FF# wrong and I didn't get the miles. After some checking, the customer service agent discovered that the miles went onto someone else's KF account! (owner of that KF FF# which was entered wrong) Ridiculous, nobody actually checked whether the name matched when crediting the miles!

IMO that's a loophole! I can ask all friends to add my KF FF# and I collect their miles on one account! Maybe SQ should implement some kind of check digit to guard against such translational and transpositional errors.

That customer service agent was rather helpful, and sent an email and escalated the case for further evaluation. After one month, I received a confirmation that I received the miles now correctly in my KF account.

TL; DR: Call KF customer service in Singapore directly to resolve such difficult mileage credit errors, otherwise nobody's paying attention.
