Anyone know the cheapest site to book the overnight train from Venice to Paris?
Perhaps and $$$ coupon code sites also? It's looking like about $477 USD for two in a double compartment for the Wife and I.
Thanks

Where are you looking at at the moment?
Best place to book is normally through the national train operator (and very rarely through RailEurope). In this case, that means either voyages-sncf.com or trenitalia.com - the latter can have some credit card authorisation problems, however. You're very unlikely to find discount vouchers.

Actually, this train has been partly privatized as Thello, and is pricey. Its best to buy tickets from Thello (https://www.thello.com/) directly, though its in French. Maybe an automated online translator will suffice. Booking it on Trenitaila's site might cost the same, since the are one of the partner operators.
That said, $477 doesn't sounds that much for a private sleeper for two.
Ah, interesting, I wondered where the Artesia website had gone!
Looks like €360 is the standard fare for a cabin for 2, which sounds about right.

My niece did this same trip - in reverse - a couple of years ago for her honeymoon; a room for two run about $500 but the euro was somewhat stronger at the time.
The price you saw is very reasonable.
I love trains and spending a day or night on the train is part of my vacation; if you are doing this to "save money", I think a flight may be cheaper;
AF have less than 100 euros intra-europe flights on a regular basis if you book well in advance; make it a round-trip (which is a lot cheaper) and then toss away the return.
By the way, when my niece went, I looked around in different websites but ended up calling raileurope.com and they matched the price I found on line and threw in shipping of tickets for free.

...or settle for a lesser class of service or travel by day in seats.

that 477 includes a night of lodging, and saves a day of travel. we did a night train paris-milan. do not plan to see anything. the night trains moscow-st pete are so inexpenisve, and the hotels so high, i thought of taking the overnight for the whole stay. wife vetoed my bright idea.

It seems €180/person is the standard fare for a 2-berth cabin, however, there should also be a discounted 'Go' fare of €145/person (subject to availability, of course) which makes €290 for two people. See Seat61 (http://www.seat61.com/Italy.htm#Option 1: London to Italy by Thello sleeper train) for more details.
I agree that this seems somewhat pricey (the starting price for a 2-berth sleeper on Citynightline routes is just €99/person). However, personally I would still choose the sleeper train rather than a daytime train (or flight) if I had to do this route...
