What is Frontier's policy regarding baggage fees for family members traveling on the same itinerary as an Ascent member? I know that the Summit 2-free bag benefit is transferred to others on the same itinerary, but what about Ascent? Just trying to help a friend out.... Thanks!

Actually I think it's only Summit for which checked bags extend to family members:

Two complimentary checked bags (1)

1 Select benefits are also extended to Summit traveling companions booked in their same reservation.

Ascent traveling companions DO NOT receive any of the Ascent benefits while flying on the same itinerary, including free bags or Stretch seating. Those bene's are reserved for Summit members only.

I'm Ascent and I've received free Stretch for all my family (3 of us) on the same itinerary (just did it today MCO-MSN) but never needed more than 2 checked bags...

Based on my direct experience three times this year, you cannot upgrade the family online.

I don't think you can do it online. I always ask nicely at the check-in desk (not the gate) when I check my 2 free bags and they have always given us free Stretch. The last time I asked for this, the agent said, "As long as you are all on the same reservation it's no problem, but if you are on different reservations we can't always do it." One time a FA even activated my family members' TVs in Stretch after I had used my ER card to activate my TV!

Just a quick update. My friend (Ascent member) & his family flew roundtrip DEN-MDW, and all three of them were able to upgrade to Stretch seating for free on both segments. He couldn't check in online because there was a lap child on the itinerary, but the reservations agent on the phone took care of it.
