Not only that, but also pray that it doesn't. If did, it would be instead of 600 flat points (rather than "also") and in that case, probably way less points.
But then, specifically in SPG, don't all airlines give flat points per stay, independent of room rate? I know AA gives 500 miles, not miles proportional to your room rate.
(At some other hotel programs, like Marriott, Southwest is the only airline left that gives flat -- again, 600 -- points/miles per stay. All other airlines give 1 to 2 miles per $ spent, which unless you're spending $300 to $600 or more per room, is actually way less than getting the 600 flat points. Which is why I hope they keep it this way for a long time, because as soon they start changing it to support per-dollar points earning at hotels, it's likely to change for the way worse.)

If you set Southwest as your earning preference, it's a flat 600 points per stay. On your SPG account history, you'll see the total SPG earned for the stay post and then immediately transferred out. I know Southwest no longer has a transfer option on SPG, but for at least some other Airlines (US Airways comes to mind), the points:miles ratio match the regular transfer ratio (on US, it's 1:1).
For simplicity's sake, if we assume that 1 USAirways mile has the same useful value to me as 1 Southwest point as 1 SPG point, then the flat 600 points is most likely not as good a redemption as the US Airways direct deposit example I gave if one is SPG elite and usually chooses points as the amenity option. I used a 1-night $69 4-pts stay for Partnerpalooza as a direct deposit but I made sure I chose the breakfast option as my Plat amenity since points would've been a complete waste.

I don't think it's proportional in all cases of other airlines.
When I started staying in SPG last summer (after only one previuos stay many many years ago), and found I was "mysterously" Gold already (presumably from an airline partner promo, the SPG phone agent said), the very first stay posted as 500 AA miles, instead of 306 (or somewhere around there) SPG points, because (unknownst to me) I had been set up for AA direct deposit. So it was definitely flat AA miles, not proportional to the (odd-numbered) SPG points I would have earned.
In fact, I remember it so clearly, because when I spotted that (right after it posted), they said it was in time to reverse it, but they reversed it to 500 SPG points, not the (smaller) number of SPG points I would have earned if I had earned SPG points directly.
I know how many points I would have earned because my next couple stays were for the same exact folio total (same hotel, same rate, same number of nights) as my first stay, and I always earned the 306-or-whatever SPG points on the subsequent "identical" stays.
