Has anyone received the cash card for a stay that was booked before registering for the promotion even though the terms and conditions stipulate otherwise?

My case:
1. Booked stay based on promotion I'd seen (I'm new to IHG/PC from Marriott Plat)
2. Realized I hadn't actually registered, so I did.
3. Just checked rates to be able to un-book and then re-book, rates have risen!
4. Now realizing promotion rules!

Considering that stay was booked to redeem this promotion, I may just go back to Marriott, even though they don't have a beachfront property in that location.

2 of my 4 reservations were booked before I registered for the promotion but did not start until after I had registered. Both qualified, were accepted and approved, and it says that the card will be sent.

This should probably be merged with the thread already discussing this.

PatrickATX, for your two reservations / bookings did you send it in together in the same envelope?

I have two discrete stays and would qualify, and reading the fine print it doesn't mention either one or the other. How did you do it?

Thanks!

spend the cost of a first class stamp to better insure your $50 return.

I have no issues with spending another first class stamp. The problem is that you get only one bar code for the rebate submission during online submission. I could print and reuse that same bar code/page for each submissions (which seems strange), or put all 2 or 3 stays in one envelope.

That's why I'm asking someone who has successfully redeemed >1 stay to see which way it went.

I mailed each one separately.

I printed 5 copies of the barcode page. 4 to mail in, 1 for my records.

You can go through the online process multiple times and generate different bar codes for each submission.

I received two cards in the mail last friday for two different stays, one of them was booked before registering and the other after....you'll be good as long as you register before the stay.^

...just make sure you have an extra copy of the receipt, otherwise it "might" get lost in the mail (They told me in the two ocassions that the info was not attached (Receipt) and in the other that the reservation number "was not visible" [whatever that is]). I called them and give them the information directly from my copies and then, after that, they got approved! :p

$100 bucks for me!

Anyone know if AAA rates qualify for this? There seems to be a no-group rates clause

that you have copies of everything...they tend to "lose" the registration email and then you get a notification that the submission is invalid!

The promotion defines eligibility as a stay of two nights or more. Since that was all one stay I would think they will only accept one rebate.

4 out of 4 ....$200 bucks that I wasn't counting on...This was a good promotion, but it was kind of a pain to submit all the paperwork.... Is there Any other promotion available?

I wasnt sure if I had to register each stay.
Are you saying I can send the same registration number in for 2 different stays?
Also does using a BOGO count as 2 nts as it does say 2 paid nts just that they are 1/2 price.

Yes. The same registration email works for each stay...you NEED to save that email and print it every single time you are sending your receipts....it doesn't make any sense but you'll figure they'll have a system to keep track once you submitted all the forms the first time.

this promo ended July 31, 2012 correct?
I'm pretty sure I read the T&C for this rebate/card and it has ended.

They seem to run soooo many promo codes at one time, I am truly confused
about now. :p:cool:

anyone got a spreadsheet on all this stuff?

Book a qualifying stay at any hotel in IHG Family of Brands between April 16 2012, and August 2, 2012.

Must be two weekdays and have registered before stay.

Yes. They are different promos. I got $300 approved for the $75 cards and $100 for the $50s.

3 for 3 on rebates so far, even though the first two "stays" (was actually one four day trip) were booked before I registered for the promotion (a few hours difference on the same day).

1 more to submit this week!

I knew there was a reason I switched to PC from Marriott Plat! Also 4 for 4 on nice upgrades in HIX since I got the PC Visa soon after which made me Plat.

Also, any luck on stacking this with the Mr Rebates 15%?

I registered for the Promo the one time back in June and had two (2) qualifying stays before the end of the promotion. I received both of my MasterCard's in the mail this week, approximately 30 days after submittal.

Yes you do qualify for 2 of the $50 rebates. One for the Mon-Tues stay and another for the Weds-Thurs stay. I have done this twice without any trouble and received all 4 of my rebates in the mail.

Could you please clarify how to send two rebate requests for one four-night stay? I've already pre-registered and have one folio. If I send the same paperwork twice, won't it appear to be a duplicate submission?

I very much appreciate your help!

This is interesting, as I recall the terms said limit of one award per week.

Fill out the online redemption form twice; one with the first two nights and the second time with the second two dates. I'd try making a copy of the folio and highlighting the lines for the dates you're redeeming in that submission. What's the worst that could happen, you're only approved for one, but you're out the postage and envelope.

The first two cards I've received were for a four-night stay, although I did have different folios: one had the first two nights that I'd requested after those nights; the second one had the entire stay, but we highlighted the nights I was requesting the card for that submission.

When I did mine I had two seperate folio's. And they sent me 2 rebate cards. On a different forum I have been on someone else sent in a rebate submission for 3 different weeks all with just one folio and they received 3 rebate cards. So I am not sure what exactly the criteria is. I thought each submission had to have a different folio. You can always just send in your one folio with the 2 rebate requests and see if it gets qualified. The worst thing that will happen is they will say the one is a duplicate. I would though mail them in seperate envelopes like the T&C says and highlight on your hotel bill the stays for rebate. You never know you might qualify for 2 rebates.

Anyone else have problems submitting a rebate for the nights of 8/1 and 8/2? Since the departure date is 8/3, the rebate people keep saying this is outside of the promotional period, although the fine print pretty clearly defines stays in terms of "nights", and says nothing about departure dates.

Not exactly the same, but I submitted a rebate for the weekday night period of 7/30-8/2 with a checkout date of 8/3. The computer at first automatically denied it, but I went to chat and insisted that the terms state that a weekday stay is two consecutive weekday nights at the same hotel regardless of frequency of check-in/out. I then argued that meant that 7/30-31 should count as a "stay" since the date that I checked out is relevant (as per the terms), and it was approved.

You may have more difficulty with 8/1 and 8/2, but I would try something like that. It may take multiple agents as well. One was very difficult, but the other saw it and immediately approved without me having to say much more than "shouldn't 7/30-31 count as two weekday nights?"

Did you not try to submit for 8/1-8/2 as well, then? It seems like you'd be eligible, technically.

I may and there are reports that you can get 2 $50 rebates for the same M-Th period, but I didn't realize it until later and after having to fight for the M/Tu because of the checkout date issue, I decided I didn't really want to go through the effort of doing it.

I debated the 8/1-8/3 case with one chat agent, and then asked for his supervisor, who said she couldn't do anything except "send it off for further review". Then I was busy for a couple weeks, but when I checked back towards the end of September, the online status showed the claim as being valid, though the card hasn't been sent out yet. Surprising not to have to argue this further, nevertheless.
