Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - AA Gold flying AS, booked with Avios. Bags?

I booked SAN-HNL on AS, using Avios. I have no status on AS, but am Gold on AA. As I read the AS web site, my AA status gets me free bags (along with others in the same PNR). What if anything do I need to do to ensure the bags are free? If I show up with my AA card is that good enough? Do I need to try to have my AA number put in the booking? By BA? AS?

If they were AA miles you'd get 2 bags free, including others in your PNR. However AS doesn't let one have two numbers in a PNR like *Alliance does (one for benefits and one for mileage earning). You can try showing your AA Gold Card but I think you might be out of luck.

I have been successful in the past doing something similar, but with a DL # with status and had no issues. As long as it's in there, it should be recognized.

Have them put in your AA # and you will substantially get the same perks as the equivalent AS member.
