Too bad prices out of MSY are prohibitive at the moment. What's up with that? It should not take $800 to add MSY-MIA but apparently DL's domestic pricing out of my airport has gone whackadoo today...

Some of the MIA-LIM dates on a third party OTA claim "there is only one ticket left at these prices," which may or may not be true, but if folks are looking at this, maybe look now. Good luck.

P.S. Humor note, just priced those dates MSY-LIM on DL's site and they quoted me over $1,600...I guess they are serious, only people from Florida need apply for this deal! :-)

Prices are the same from BOS and WAS, so you aren't the only one getting the high prices in comparison, young grasshopper :p!

Fare rule seems to be updated from earlier:

ORIGINATING THE UNITED STATES -
PERMITTED 31DEC THROUGH 12JUN OR 16AUG THROUGH 05DEC ON
THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL SECTOR.

So the sample date won't work because it isnt within the updated fare rules.

Slightly more than a MR, but it's somewhere I've been talking about going to for years. No more talk. I'm going! Still pretty widely available in Sept., BTW (at least as of this post).

Sweet! Just combo'd this with the $140 atl-mia fare for a very reasonable Peru trip, and in peak season to boot.

What $140 ATL-MIA fare are you referring to? Dates?

What $140 ATL-MIA fare are you referring to? Dates?

I assume he means ATL-FLL which is $140 r/t or $70 o/w.

There are shuttles between MIA & FLL for about $40 or a taxi for $70

There is a Tri-Rail service betwen FLL and MIA but you need to check here (http://www.tri-rail.com/rider_info/stm_wend.asp) the schedule. From FLL, a free Tri-Rail service takes you to the station for MIA. At Tri-Rail MIA station, you can take the rail service to MIA. If your schedule suits you, this would be the cheapest way to travel between the two airports.

Finally booked this for Thanksgiving. Took some talking the wife into, but what a great deal and a chance to finally get to South America!

Delta.dumb was being very difficult with the tickets and was only showing $2K+ tickets when searching by price. Switching to schedule would show necessary flights but would price higher (around $540). Finally booked it on Orbitz for $391 each for a two night stay.

No luck at all trying to get this fare to come up on delta.com. I tried everything. (Had the dates right, by the way.)

Thanks for posting this fare. As luck would have it, I´m in LIM now, on the IAD-MEX-LIM $355 RT a-i on AM deal (75% DL EQMs and 75% RDM bonus). First trip to Peru for me, and of course that requires going to Macchu Picchu despite the expense and altitude adjustment. Ideal weather there, but here in Lima the desultory fog is around (I think it lifts around October). The ¨gastronomic capital¨title is holding, though, and I´m glad I picked Miraflores for the stay.

Indeed, the routing on this one works even better if you´re in ATL. So I booked it using FlexPerks points for $0 for the last week of October (getting out right before the All Saints Day holidays). Maybe a sidetrip to some other part of Peru is in order.

Thanks from me also for posting. Booked ATL MIA atl LIM and back for $493 ai last evening for the end of Oct just before the ATL MIA $140 fare disappeared. Looking forward to figuring out how best to go to Maccu Picchu this time.

I'm sure everybody can do better than I did at $287 RT a-i LIM-CUZ-LIM on Peruvian Airlines (which, along with StarPeru, at least doesn't charge the $140 foreigner surcharge that LAN and TACA do). My situation was hindered by booking late and running into high season. With more advance time you can do much better, and I think you can also get for as few as 12K AA miles RT (maybe fewer BA).

The cheapest way to MP I think is to go by bus to Ollyantambo and take the cheapest train from there to Aguas Calientes. Of course there's also the Inca Trail.
