Currently Finnair hopes to fly "most" flights. Gee, guess who is flying for vacation on AY005 next Sunday? On AA ticket, but...
At the moment it looks like half of tonight's AY flights have been delayed.

I'm here at the airport - not HALF of tonight's AY flights are delayed, just three of them as far as I can see. :D

Lucky you it is "just" holiday, not a business...
"In case of trainers/consultants delayed arrival to training premises the compensation per day is xxx dollars with liquidated damages included... the delayed flight is not considered to be a force major..."
Tech strikes will not affect immediately. They will erode the available fleet by grounding the scheduled maintenance planes. Erosion can be hastened by preflight investigation crew shipping the planes for further investigations (in Finnair Tech). Basically, if you want you can ground a plane durign the strike. This was happening quite widely during last tech strike, which was shorter.

Does somebody have some insight on AY organisational structure and how these tech crews are tied together?
Lucky for me, my June is almost Finnair free, only one flight after the mid-summer!

The labour union was negotiating with Finnair but decided to organize a illegal walkout. They did not give a two weeks notice as is needed before a strike. Correct me if I am wrong. These kind of stunts have been organized before e.g. the baggage handlers in 2011. The penalty for illegal labour actions is ridiculous max 29 500 eur equaling nothing in union cash terms.
