Hertz - Ford Mustang Convertible or 'Chrysler 200 or Similar'?

I'm renting a convertible in the Northeast for a week this summer, and have the option of a Ford Mustang Convertible (make/model guaranteed) or the regular Convertible class (Chrysler 200 or similar). Both are listed for the exact same price.

Thoughts on which would be better, mainly what are the trim levels like for the convertible class and the Mustang? Also, is there any chance whatsoever of a 5* receiving an upgrade to a Prestige Collection Convertible (not a guarantee, just a slimmest of chances ;) ), such as the C70, by renting the convertible class instead of a guaranteed Mustang?

I have a similar query:

What cars are in the Convertible class (Chrysler 200 or similar), other than the 200, and approx. what %.

I will be renting from LAX from 1 August for between 2 and 4 weeks. Preference would be a Camaro convertible (or hardtop, if they still have the V6), so wondering whether they are in this category and the likelihood of receiving one.

If it makes any difference, I am 5 star.

Thanks in advance.

I have seen very few Camaros in Hertz's fleet, AVIS is probably a better option for Camaros.

As for convertibles, an upgrade to Prestige C70, would probably not happen and I wouldn't reserve a car based on a hope for this upgrade. The Chyrsler 200 is definately the most common in the base class, but there are Mustangs as well as a few others mixed in (ie. EOS).

Check out the ride report index (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hertz/1291403-index-hertz-ride-reports.html), as there are (some really great) reports for both the Mustang V6 (hard-top but similar trim) and the Chrysler 200 convertible.

Here's what's available:
Convertible (U) (Others in Adrenaline Coll.)
Chevrolet Camaro V6 Convertible U STAR
Chrysler 200 Convertible U STAR (27 mpg)
Ford Mustang V6 Convertible* U RTAR, IXAR (30 mpg)
Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder U STAR (27 mpg)
Volkswagen Eos U (Hard-top conv.)
There's also a ride report for the Camaro here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hertz/1348965-camaro-ss-conv-vs-mustang-conv-trunk-space.html#post18645251) and in the ride report index, and they seem to be becoming more popular in the YF class (hardtop) (i.e., more reports of being given YF-tagged Camaros).

Looking at booking a convertible for a week in Hawaii in September. Hertz.com shows a STAR class at $345 for the week and the RTAR class at $390. Is the difference merely a Chrysler 200 versus a Ford Mustang, or is there more to the differences in the classes?

The RTAR is a guaranteed Mustang, while the STAR is some type of convertible. It could be a Mustang or a 200, or some other convertible.

My mom just bought a 2013 Mustang coupe. It is a really fun car to drive. And really fast (compared to the other two cars I drive). I cannot comment on the chrysler, but the mustang would be very nice.

Gotcha. Makes sense now.
