China - buying bullet train tickets concierge vs satellite office

I know I was asking a similar questions a few months ago. I have a different version of the question. I understand that when going to the ticket office, you have to use cash to buy the tickets IIRC. Now if I have a hotel concierge arrange it, can the tickets be added to the room bill to be paid at check out, or must this also be paid in cash.

Likely the hotel will want cash, as they have to pay for the train tickets immediately, and surely will not want to "front" the money and then await cash payment or payment from a credit card company after the fact. Additionally, there is always the theoretical possibility that the customer would change their mind, refuse to pay for the tickets (or refuse to pay the equivalent cc charge), thus sticking the hotel with the tickets. However, it may be possible for the hotel to run a separate credit card charge immediately (just for the tickets), then upon your signature for this, dispatch somebody with some hotel petty cash to go procure them. Ask the hotel when you arrive.

Don't forget the hotel will add a service surcharge per ticket! Inquire what this is before you commit.

I'll plan on paying cash at a satellite ticket office.

I'll plan on paying cash at a satellite ticket office.

Just did at Longyang Rd. ticket office in Shanghai this morning. No wait and minimal hassle. Well recommended.
