I'm trying to check in for my flight to AMS tomorrow from HEL and this is impossible as I am redirected to the partners website (Finnair) which obviously can't find my booking number and name as it is a KLM flight and not a Finnair flight!!!

What an utter joke and another sign of stupidity from AF/KL AGAIN... I have been told on other occations that AF/KL's systems don't communicate with each others (lastly by AF @ CDG) and that it has been like this over the ladt many years!

So, why do I get redirected to Finnair when they (i.e. KLM) knows it won't work? Obviously no one ever tested it so this weeks one finger salute goes to KLM for being incompetent.

I think if you call, you can get a AY reservationnumber.

Why on earth do you think so? It's a KL operated flight not AY... Finnair only handles the check-in.

Sorry, red too quickly. Thought it was a Finnair flight.

I can't help with your problem but why do you stick with AFKL so much? It seems you have a lot of issues (quite rightly). Why not try for a status match with a Star carrier and fly LH/LX/OS. Most of the time I'm finding the LH group carriers are cheaper than AF-KL in all respects, the lounges are miles better, there is the seat-block. LH Group is not saintly but I've pretty much given up on going for Platinum for life. I can't tolerate the crap anymore.

Yeah, I think it is leaning in that direction tbh. Only thing is that it is dead easy to maintain E+ status with FB as I mostly base mine on segment flights via eirher AMS or CDG. Somehow I also have it built in to my mind set that they (i.e. AFKL) are cheaper than LH/LX/OS/SK etc but I might be wrong :(

Do you know of any *A carriers that currently matches?

I noticed a few weeks ago, you can now OLCI for AZ flights (code-share and ticketed through KLM) through the KLM website. A big improvement ^, as I always had problems with the AlItalia website.

Hopefully they expand this great service to other partner airlines soon!

Have you tred AZ coded segments as well? I guess technically that should work too then..

No, only code shares from/to Ams and ticketed by KLM.
