I'm a first time NH flyer and was wondering what the service difference was in F vs Y on such a short flight from NRT-NGO. Is it worth the extra $40 for F?
The flight would be in the evening, but do they even serve a meal on a 70 minute flight? Thanks for your information.

You'll get a bento box, free alcohol/drinks, a larger seat, etc. NH just refreshed their Premium Class service, so you'd be among the first to try it. (Be aware that there is no longer "champagne" in PC but only French sparkling wine) NH provides PC service even on routes shorter than this, incidentally. Since an upgrade to PC normally costs 7,000 JPY, 40 USD or so is a comparative bargain. Also, as you would be in F, there would be a 1.25x class of service EQM/PP bonus (in the case of UA or NH).

Thanks for the quick response. I was thinking that $40 is bargain as well, but wasn't sure if it was like Air France intra-europe business class or not.

It's definitely closer to first class on a US airline than intra-Europe business class, though the food is simpler.
