Flug KE 688 von Kambodscha (Siem Reap) nach Korea (ICN) am 6. Mai 2012.
SCHOCK !!!

Warum?

Prestige class

it seems like this is a trip report borderline with a rant. The OP did not have the best experience it seems. It is defo not the most dimensional review-report I have ever read but it is an opinion and therefore,,,,,thank you?

Flight KE 688 on Cambodia (Siem Reap) to Korea (ICN) 6 May 2012.
The anticipation was great award flight in business class. The memory of the last flight before the age of 4 in the KE Business class from Germany to Korea: Very courteous and nice-looking to FAs (LH Sorry, but however you see no sun ...), remarkable service and big, comfortable seats.
And now? SHOCK!

Why?

Prestige class
What the hell is this? Since I will be charged for the miles biz class and then there's only a prestige class instead of business?
Only the wording can not lie, however, in order:
Three rows of two seats, making a total of 12 seats in the so-called prestige class, which was staffed by 11 people. A first class did not exist.
After boarding, as usual, the drinks were served, but why only water and orange juice? No champagne, let alone champagne!
1-0 vs. LH KE

Napkins?
Also without success!
2-0 vs. LH KE

Magazine? Only on-demand, but a pathetic assortment of three English-language magazines, which are based on only two sports.
3-0 vs. LH KE

And the seats? The worst thing I've experienced in my total of 25 flights in the biz class!
Regularly fly LH, OZ and Singapore Airlines, but this seat is simply a FRESH BEAUTY!
Well, on leather-so I can do without me even the Listerine-colored border fabric is not disturbed.
But NO reclining!
On the contrary, the footrest can be adjusted up to 45 degrees and is so short that the hard metal folding frame brutally crushed the calf, if one stretches out his legs. I am 189 cm tall and I'm surprised that I got over those 5-hour flight without thrombosis! However, I made the painful sitting position so aggressively that it was only thanks to my good breeding and iron discipline that I have the FAs (I know it is not their fault) did not make a scene.
It was also the first time I've seen traveling in the so-called Biz class, who stood up after 4 hours of flight and did stretching exercises. Although small and normal Koreans (!) And Europeans with no guard dimensions.
Actually, I would have because of the torture seats to a 10-0 for LH (where LH only representative of all Star Alliance partner is) coming, restrict myself for the sake of fairness, but only one:
4-0 vs. LH KE

And the food? Geared to Asians! Very few Europeans will have the morning at 5 clock after a painful, sleepless night feel like a heat soup or seafood. The yogurt listed in the card was withheld by (unfortunately, it was seen only after the service).
5-0 vs. LH KE

The towelette! It came after all. Before eating. Unfortunately, not flavored, so there is no point for it.

The staff were as always very friendly and nice to look at, but these externals can compensate for this in ANY WAY UNDERGROUND comfort even to some extent.
The chair or the designer Rotstiftfuzzis should send it once on a 12 hour flight. Strapped and without Trombosestrümpfe ...

Ultimately, all I can NEVER WARN-paid biz with KE when it only gives prestige class! Except for that extra degree of freedom leg is m.E. economy only a sham.

I am not a Sky Team person, but flying via ICN quite frequently, I believe this is a 'tourist' night flight operated with short-haul B737-800 - equivalent of A320 FRA-BEY/CMN routes, folks so much hate on the M&M forum.

PS. I do not believe LH serves PDB champagne on night FRA-BEY/CMN flights, so 1:1 LH/KE, I would say. Also... FRA-BEY/CMN are operated with A320's with standard Y-seats (with middle seat blocked in C) - so 1:2 for KE - just my 2 cents...

It's an intra-Asia flight. Naturally, the food would be geared towards Asians.

This isn't a trip report. This is a trip rant. I recommend striking this.

Prestige Class @ Korean Air = No more again"

Never again!

The Google translation makes it look as if there were 11 staff on a 12-seat cabin. The German original says that 11 out of the 12 seats were occupied.

The OP has a thing about hot towels. He got them in the end, but later than he wanted. He didn't like Asian food (so why travel on Korean Air?!!!!). He thought the seats were very uncomfortable, unpleasant to look at, too small, designed for small Asian chimpanzees (so why travel on Korean Air....etc?) with the footrests only rising up by 45 degrees. At several reprises he says it is amazing that he didn't get DVT, and should have brought compression stockings.....

Und so weiter (etc) und weiter.

I have the distinct impression that he won't fly with this airline again.

I have translated the German to English (read through and translated it), some colloquialism may be different or need to be changed but you'll get the idea of what the OP was writing in German.

LH is only serving real champagne on Long Haul Business flights, otherwise it's Sekt (german sparkling wine)

Short haul J on just about every asian carrier beats the pants off the psuedo business class that is offered on short haul Europe

And yes intra asian flights with mostly Asian pax will tend to have Asian food on the menu, it is sort of the point in going to Asia to have the local food, what a thought.
