Checkpoints and Borders Policy Debate - Possible evidence of the effect of MMW on a small airport

Anecdotal information for sure, but...

A year ago, Delta used to offer 6 flights each day from DTW to FNT, and 3 flights each day from DTW to MBS.

Now, it appears the numbers have reversed: 3 flights each day from DTW to FNT, and 6 flights each day from DTW to MBS.

FNT is a larger airport than MBS. FNT is closer to the population centers in SE Michigan than is MBS.

However, FNT has MMW scanner since mid-October 2011. MBS has WTMD only.

I think FNT is paying the price for allowing the TSA to expand its unconstitutional activities into its domain. When I must fly my family somewhere, we fly ONLY out of MBS now, so we've contributed to this situation.

Anyone else noted this for nearby airports in a similar situation?

Are you comparing the same time of year? MBS is closer to "up north" so you could be seeing seasonal demand as summer starts.

Comparison is not scientific, just anectdotal, so perhaps there is a seasonal variety to the data. But I flew out of Flint most of last year (March through December), so my recollection of its year-ago schedule is personal information.

Doubtful.

The Akron-Canton Airport has seen record travel in the months that they've added NoS, so I doubt the FNT case is related.

People are actually excited about it there too. On my trips through their last month several commented how "neat" it was.

A possible atlernative reason for the increased flights between DTW and MBS for Delta might be that Frontier apparently has stopped providing service to MBS. I noted last night that all signs for Frontier have been removed.

Makes me vomit. Yet, in perspective it's Akron, Ohio, to choose to live there you'd have to be sheeple.
