SAS EuroBonus - EB Points upgrade (UA code share, SK metal)

Before I moved to the states and started flying UA, I accrued some points on my EB account (41k).

I'm flying SK ARN-ORD on a UA flight number this summer. I'm wondering if I will be able to use the points from my EB account to upgrade to Eco Extra/Biz with miles (at the airport)?

I'm also wondering, are SK helping out *G passengers with better seats? After 10+ TATL in Eco Plus on UA this year, the last thing I would want to is to be stuck in row 40+ ....

You can try to do a standby upgrade at the gate with points on SK-metal.

M to Y is 10 000 points
M to C is 30 000 points

I think you have a fair chance since you are traveling during summer time, meaning fewer business travelers, and more leisure travelers.

You can choose your seat now. The best way to do it is actually to use Lufthansa.com and type in your Amadeus booking-number under "my booking". This is not a perk for star gold since all travelers, regardless of status, can choose their seat just after booking.
