American Express Membership Rewards - BA Premium Plus or Preferred Gold [UK]?

Hope someone can assist in my comparison of the two. I currently have the PP and was, today, comparing the Avios I would get to MR - practically the same at around 100,000 a year (calculating the relevant multipliers by spend type) and excluding the three month bonus.

The fees are comparable, so the question is whether the conversion of MR->AVIOS is at 1:1 or offered at 0.5:1 or better? If so, it would be worth switching to Gold.

I realise I would lose the companion voucher, but I've sat on 2 (and once 3) and cannot really see the opportunity to use them but would be interested to know if they would still be valid after the switch.

MR to BA is 1:1, with promos over the last couple of years to get 40 to 100 per cent bonuses, albeit these promos are often targetted.
