Anybody to know why Israir has been discontinued service to JFK. Due to high cost of the fuel. Whosoever what happened the entire 767-300ER aircraft were phase out? I wasn't sure if Israir could have orders the A330-200 or B777-200ER aircraft. They needed to expanding more new international service expansion from TLV. They need beef up.

Israir would likely to reconsider service to JFK again. If the economy is improving. There will have enough more competition against LY, DL, UA. I wasn't sure if Israir will have some wet-lease the 777-300ER or A330-200 aircraft. Perhaps, Israir would likely to start new nonstop TLV-LAS/LAX/MIA/IAD/ORD and anywhere else in USA. If the category 2 FAA status will restore. If they improved the safety rules.

Israair's service is worse than a low cost carrier.
you cannot hold a route to NYC with 1.5 planes.
it's a good thing they do not fly that route.

He is saying Israir couldnt compete on this route, they had very poor service, the price of tickets was not that much cheaper and they didnt have a large enough fleet. It was a very poor attempt by them to compete.

And they also canceled the service in 2008/9

Yes, unfortunately, they couldn't workout very well. Way too much competition against LY, DL. That's why Israir is no longer service to JFK.

It's not because of LY and DL that they no longer have service. There was non-direct competition that was much better

They stunk. My travel agent wouldn't even ticket them. Their "schedule" was more of a suggestion. It was maybe we'll have a flight on that date, and then again, maybe we'll cancel it and have it on another day---or not at all. You can't run an airline that way. If an airline can't fulfill its' basic mandate--getting you from point A to point B it is doomed for failure.

^ I flew once in their business class...awful seats, but interesting experience from start to finish. Very Israeli (in the worst ways of stereotyping specific parts of Israeli culture). I enjoyed it for some of those reasons though and the salad was nice, they had a bar and snack area set up in front cabin with some nice Israeli dessert wines. Also for a time they had an FA who acted as a masseuse and gave brief treatments to passengers in business.

Strange, I have never understood why it has been nearly a decade with the website of Arkia, Israir and El Al not really working very well (or at all sometimes) when Israel leads the way with other IT technology.
