American Express Membership Rewards - Amex Cash Advance over the counter

Is it possible to walk into a bank and get a cash advance over the counter without a pin # I couldn't find one I even called American express

I am asking because I have the Travelocity American Express and Barclays Bank placed a security block on my card and they want me to step in to a bank and request a cash advance with 2 pieces of ID and the bank will need to call them because the transaction will be referred

If I were you I would go to my own bank, with the identification, skip the cash advance charade, explain, and ask them to call Barclays. It sounds as if they have taken a procedure for MasterCard or VISA and applied it to this card.
