bmi diamond club - Images of BD

With the gradual run down of BD I asked if we should have a thread so those of us with anything BD related picture wise could post up our BD related images. I was told to go for it so here it is. Feel free to post away your BD pictures.

I reckon there must be thousands of pictures of BD stuck on various hard disks all over the world so would be good to capture these for eternity so BD will never be forgotten.

Unfortunately I've not really done much bmi flying since they stopped the GLA run, and that was before I had a half-decent camera.

My earliest recollection of BMI was way back in 1988. I was only 19 and had spent the entire summer working over in America. I flew back into Heathrow and then got a British Midland flight back up to Glasgow. Flew in a DC9 and the thing that really sticks in my mind was on approach the stewardess came round with a basket of sweets. I had been americanised for the past few months however I was promptly brought back to reality when she passed the basket to to me and asked, in a broad scottish accent, "would you like a wee sweetie son" I was home :)

Flickr doesn't let you pinch the direct URL of an image. On the photo page you want to share, click "Share" (above the photo) and then "Grab the HTML/BBCode". Select the size and then "BBCode", and paste that code into your FlyerTalk post. ^

While the product in Y was not the best, I always found the food reasonable on bmi, and far superior to the States based airlines offering….

Now...…. I have to say that the service, presentation and the quality of the food on bmi services in C has never been bettered by any other business class I've been on, and I've had friends say that bmi's service with the Chef even pips 1st class….

I had many fantastic journeys, some for work but many for pleasure - I was devastated when bmi ceased MAN LH ops, but not more so for the fantastic crew who were almost without failure sociable (if you wanted them to be) or not if you didn't - but always impeccably professional…. visiting my family in SFO has never been the same, I used to love seeing the bmi aircraft at Manchester… If anyone has any particular photos they would like to see I may even have them :)

These days im pretty much UK landed, but I'm looking forward to burning some miles on BA metal in the future…

Alas my photo-taking trips never really overlapped with my bmi trips, so I don't have many BD photos to share. All I can rustle up just now is from what turned out to be my last ever BD flight, at the end of a redemption last year.

Two weeks ago I had my last flight on a bmi plane. I was disappointed G-MIDO and G-MIDX had just swapped places and I would be flying on G-MIDX in Star Alliance livery rather than G-MIDO. When I boarded G-MIDX in FRA, I was delighted to see G-MIDO parked at the next gate waiting for departure to BHX.
