Are there any benefits for GE card holders entering the US this way?
South from YVR, I used the NEXUS lane (all others in the car also have NEXUS/GE)
To Mexico there were no benefits.

Not that I know - it's just a chaotic queue experience, unless you hit at low demand times. I'll do this again next month, so will report, at San Ysidro / Tijuana.

What, may I ask, are the low demand times? During the past year, I've seen a 2+ hour wait at San Ysidro at 2 in the afternoon on a Wednesday, as well as at 11 PM on a Tuesday night.
It has been a while (though I will cross at least a couple of times in August) - I perhaps should have said "less than high demand times" ;) when I have seen clogs lasting for a number of hours. Either way, it's not pleasant.
Driving to some of B.C. I prefer Tecate, and if I am driving to the mainland and not the B.C. peninsula, I chose to cross at San Luis / San Luís R. C. or Lukeville / Sonoita or somewhere less busy. San Ysidro - the crossing I love to hate.
