Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - Would you be comfortable with a 2.5 hr. connection AF to AS in LAX?

CDG- LAX-SEA

I have a partner award ticket that has gone through quite a few schedule changes in the 8 months since I booked it. ( mostly the AS legs)

The newest is a shorter connect time in LAX from about 3.5 hours to 2.5 hours. The arrival flight from CDG is a 380 so there will be a lot of us going through immigration and customs. I am in business if that makes a difference.

Before I call AS to confirm this newest schedule change....is 2.5 hours enough time to comfortably connect in LAX from an Air France flight to an Alaska flight?

Any chance you have Global Entry? That can help with immigration.

If you book your entire itinerary on a single PNR with Alaska then they'll probably take care of you if you misconnect due to immigration. If you booked a F seat then you may have a downgrad on a misconnect so that could be an issue. If you're nervous, call up AS and see what options they have for you. What was your original connect time on the flights?

I think you should be fine. I would be really surprised if you didn't make your connection.

Even if it goes pear-shaped, it's not like you're someplace with 1x daily service to SEA...AS just puts you on the next plane.

Unequivocally, I would be fine connecting at LAX with that itinerary. Done it plenty of times with less connection times, including international.

I'd head out to SeaTac and get global entry just to help with passport control. You have to make an appointment as I understand it.

http://www.globalentry.gov/

I've made it from landing, through passport control, picked up bags and re-checked them and on to an AS gate in just about an hour (it was just as the door closed, however :() so I think 2.5 is okay unless you're late. If you're in 1st on Alaska, you probably won't get it on a re-booked flight if you miss your connection but that's not a huge worry.

actually.... thanks to your responses my partner and I filled out the global entry app this morning. We fly enough international to make it worth it. Hopefully we will get our appointment before our next trip in late July.

Thanks.
