I think I have a rare occassion of my company paying for a business class flight (one way) - the other way I am using miles and I am flying KLM and AF.

I will be flying from BOM to IAD and I have looked at a lot of options these 3/4 options come up as the best:

1. EK J BOM-DXB-JFK and a domestic economy ticket. The DXB-JFK leg would be on the A380
2. EY J BOM-AUH-JFK and again a domestic ticket. I have heard great things about them and am leaning towards them.
3. AF J - BOM-CDG-IAD with the CDG-IAD on the A380.
4. 9W J BOM-LHR and LHR-IAD on Virgin Atlantic - a little expensive that the other options (about 300 more).

The AF is there because it would be very helpful for my qualification on DL for this year.

What would you choose if you had these choices. I hate to make a choice out of so many good ones :).

First world problems you say :).

Emirates offers a far superior premium class experience than Air France. If the on board experience trumps the SkyTeam elite qualification then it's a complete no-brainier. Maybe you can even make a one day stopover in Dubai - fascinating city.

For convenience I like your option3. After such a long trip, I'd like to get there without that last hop in Y.

What about BA BOM-LHR-IAD? Is it too expensive?

Yes it is a little expensive than the other ones. The price is EY<AF<EK<VS/9W<<BA

I think I would love to get the experience of the EK A380 hopefully they will not disappoint (I have heard that service levels have been dwindling).

I usually only travel in coach or domestic first other than a couple Op-ops on Delta and once on BA in J.

I feel like a small kid who has a lot of choices for the candy in front of him.

The only trouble is, unless you take the flight as a once in a lifetime experience you'll never be able to fly again, as you'll always be disappointed :(

I'm a pragmatic kind of guy, and the EQMs would trump the once in a lifetime experience. But that's me .....
